Appreciation of Indian Classical Arts (AICA)

AICA is an initiative of Kalai Koodam Academy of Performing Arts Trust. This is a drive conducted to promote, propogate and preserve the Classical Art forms of India. The main aim is to reach out to the youth and children in schools and colleges in order to make classical arts understandable to them and thereby igniting an interest, passion and respect for the arts, which represents our glorious heritage.

AICA is a lecture demonstration at schools and colleges, which is presented in the form of an interactive session with a short Bharatanatyam performance, that will be easy to understand by all after the introduction and explanation that is provided prior to it. THIS FORMS AN IMPORTANT PART OF CULTURE STUDIES WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR HOLISTIC EDUCATION. We firmly believe that this will be instrumental in the overall personality development of the students, helping them evolve as better human beings. It also strengthens their knowledge about our culture and heritage, which is the NEED OF THE HOUR. This initiative is done to create a BETTER and CULTURALLY RICH TOMORROW without any personal gain in mind.

   AICA ACROSS SOUTH TAMILNADU

We were overwhelmed with the warm welcome and positive feedback that the AICA programs have received both from the management of the educational insitutions and the students. Our success is seen when students who previously found Bharatanatyam and classical dance performances to be dull, boring and difficult to comprehend came up to us to tell how much they enjoyed, understood and liked the performance and the AICA session.
